RECAP: Mason Early Learning Coalition Family Fun Fair - Drive Thru
Mason Early Learning Coalition (MELC) hosted a Family Fun Fair Drive-Thru event at Evergreen Elementary School parking lot Saturday morning, February 27th. The coalition, which consists of over 14 community agencies that support early learning education in Mason County, partnered with our member community organizations, Shelton School District, and United Way of Mason County to put on the event.

The Early Learning Coalition of Mason County held a Stakeholders Luncheon at Alderbrook Resort and Spa on January 28, 2016 called, Mason Engaged!
Darrin Moody (Shelton Chief of Police) opened the well-attended event of sixty-five stakeholders from various community sectors. Kathy Haigh (Former State Representative), Mason County veterinarian, and education and early learning advocate addressed the group about the Mason County specific early learning issues.
The Keynote Speaker, Ross Hunter, Director of the Washington State Department of Early Learning shared great information on the effects of stress on child brain development and statistics demonstrating the importance of early learning. Jennifer Williamson-Forster (MC Early Learning Coalition Co-Chair) closed the event by sharing about the Mason County Early Learning Coalition and how the community can support their efforts .
Attendees enjoyed the speakers and viewing exhibits from various Early Learning Community Partners.
